摘要

As wastewater treatment systems increasingly leverage artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance efficiency and environmental impact, the need for robust security mechanisms becomes paramount. This chapter presents a novel security framework designed specifically for AI-enabled wastewater treatment systems. The integration of AI in these critical infrastructures brings forth unique challenges and vulnerabilities, necessitating innovative approaches to safeguard against potential threats. Our proposed security mechanism combines traditional cybersecurity measures with AI-driven anomaly detection and adaptive response mechanisms. By harnessing the power of AI, we aim to proactively identify and mitigate security risks while ensuring uninterrupted wastewater treatment operations. The framework incorporates machine learning algorithms for real-time monitoring of system behavior, anomaly detection, and predictive threat analysis. Additionally, it employs variants of bio-inspired algorithm for optimization of measures of cyber security like protection of data integrity and confidentiality, ensuring sensitive operational data remains secure. The chapter also discusses the importance of comprehensive security policies and user training to create a culture of awareness and vigilance within wastewater treatment facilities. Furthermore, it highlights the role of regulatory compliance and standards adherence in enhancing the overall security posture of AI-enabled wastewater treatment systems. Through a thorough analysis of potential threats and vulnerabilities specific to these systems, this research contributes to the evolving field of AI-enabled critical infrastructure security. The proposed security mechanism aims to strike a balance between the advancements in AI technology and the imperative to safeguard against cyber threats, ultimately ensuring the resilience and reliability of wastewater treatment systems in an increasingly connected world.
