High-Speed Rheo-Microscopy in Magnetorheological Fluids Under Triaxial Unsteady Magnetic Fields

A new device has been designed, constructed and validated to perform magnetorheological experiments under unsteady magnetic fields at the same time the sample is visualized with a high speed camera. The device has been tested with dilute MR fluids in steady shear flow tests and results are compared to classical experiments under uniaxial DC fields, particle level simulations and FEM simulations.
