War on Gaza: An Unceasing Humanitarian Tragedy
摘要
The wars on the Gaza Strip are just one aspect of the continued Palestinian suffering. Since 2007, Gazans have struggled under a blockade that deprives more than two million people of their basic rights and needs—a situation only compounded by the repeated wars and incursions on the territory by Israeli forces. This context of over 15 years of war and blockade has created very high levels of humanitarian needs, with over 85 percent of Gazans dependent on food aid. Yet despite soaring relief needs, the humanitarian space in Gaza is ever-shrinking—posing major obstacles towards efforts to save lives and provide essential support.
