Auditory Training: Predictors of Success and Optimal Training Paradigms
摘要
In this chapter, we review the literature on laboratory-based speech perception training, including efforts to train speech perception in adults and children who use cochlear implants (CIs). Training efforts are marked by a high degree of variation in approaches, and we discuss some potential sources of individual differences in outcomes and how training efforts might be personalized to account for individual variation. We conclude by discussing potential clinical applications of training to improve outcomes for CI users.
