Murderbot and the Uncanny

The feeling of the “uncanny” has existed as long as human beings have been able to understand the concepts of “I” and “other”; however, the closest humanityhumanity has come to officially naming this concept that was in the early 1900s: “unheimlich,” or literally translated in English to “unhomelyunhomely” (Freud in The Standard Edition of the Complete Psychological Works of Sigmund Freud, Volume XVII (1917–1919): An Infantile Neurosis and Other Works, 220).
