Three Dimensional CFD Analysis of Horizontal Wind Turbine Designed for Mosul City Weather Conditions
摘要
A fully, three-dimensional analysis of horizontal wind turbine working on Mosul area wind conditions is presented in this paper. Weather and operating conditions including wind speed, temperature and atmospheric pressure for the city of Mosul collected and analyzed. The theoretical analysis and geometry design performed using computer software called “Q-blade”. RANS equations are solved using available solver from ANSYS. The two-equation, k-ε model is used to close the RANS equations. The wind speed is varied to mimic the weather conditions of Mosul area. The results are included but not limited to performance, dynamic behavior and performance of turbine.
