摘要

Cement production is an energy-intensive, carbon-intensive, and important production in the economy of many countries, responsible for 5–8% of global carbon dioxide emissions. Ukraine is among the top 40 global cement producers. The stated goal of the EU and Ukraine to achieve climate neutrality requires the implementation of measures to decarbonize this production. In recent years, worldwide attention to the problem of decarbonization in the cement industry has been growing, as evidenced by the number of relevant publications. In cement production, carbon dioxide emissions are generated in the process of raw material calcination, and fuel combustion, and there are indirect emissions associated with electricity consumption. This study examines the directions of decarbonization of the cement industry and identifies promising ones for priority implementation in Ukraine.
