摘要

This paper investigates the integration of the AMiRo (Autonomous Mini Robot) into the educational and research environment of the Cognitronics & Sensor Systems group at Bielefeld University, focusing on the challenge of adapting academic curricula to the rapidly evolving field of robotics. A notable gap exists in academic institutions’ capability to effectively incorporate the latest research advancements into their teaching. This paper explores how the AMiRo platform aims to address this gap by examining the potential of a shared platform targeting educational and research purposes. This involves an introduction to the ecosystem, focusing on its hardware and software components and adaptability. It also includes a historical review of the development of the curriculum, the application of the AMiRo in education, and its impact on student learning and research outcomes. The findings suggest that the AMiRo serves as a successful platform that not only enhances the quality of education and research but also prepares students more effectively for the demands of the rapidly evolving field of robotics and beyond.
