How Consortiums Can Support Professional Development: The Example of the Global Liberal Arts Alliance

A brief history of The Global Liberal Arts Alliance and its mission, followed by an explanation on why consortium/associations are uniquely positioned to do collaborative faculty and staff development well. Descriptions of the GLAA’s programs, including Global Course Connections and related faculty support—workshop, skill development, and a short list of connected courses as examples of what is possible; Alliance Institutes; and the Alliances professional development program. Other topics include Civic Engagement, Leadership for Social Good; and the Oral History project.
