Advanced Road Safety Services Enabled by Hybrid 5G and ITS-G5 Communications

Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) research possibilities to enhance Arctic traffic monitoring and related road weather and safety services by innovative use of ITS and related methodologies. Autonomous driving, green technologies and energy efficiency are the major future trends in ITS and they benefit from advanced road weather services. FMI is the national authority in weather services and provides a wide variety of weather- and safety-related services for all the citizens and society of Finland. These targets have been considerably developed within the 5G-SAFE-PLUS project.
