Interdisciplinary Approach on Modeling Multimodal Public Transport Systems
摘要
The paper describes the increasing use of motorized private transport (MPT) in Germany and its negative impacts on traffic congestion, infrastructure development, noise, and emissions. To address these issues and achieve climate targets, the expansion of public transport is necessary. However, this requires high investment and operating costs. The proposed study aims to develop a tool for optimal planning of public transport by determining user needs, conducting a traffic simulation, and studying the potential of interconnecting different transportation modes. The study will provide a toolbox for transportation planning and will be tested in 2024 in two districts in Germany. The study consists of three main stages: determining a multimodal source-destination-time matrix, simulating traffic, and optimizing on-demand transportation.
