Film Restoration of Remains

Only a handful of Palestinian films that were produced by the Palestine Film Institute, which was plundered by the Israeli army in 1982, survived looting and destruction. As these films were separated from the institution that had preserved and maintained them, they became the responsibility of their individual salvagerssalvagers, who could not maintain and store the films in the conditions required to preserve them. In this chapter, I explore the process of restoring to the public domain Palestinian films that are remains of plunderplunder.
