摘要

In 1969, Palestinian photographer, Hani JawheriehJawherieh, Hani held his first photography exhibition in AmmanAmman, JordanJordan. The exhibition featured portraits of Palestinian fighters whom he had photographed from low angles to give them a gigantic feel. He then made large prints of these portraits which dominated his exhibition space. However, this collection of portraits was plundered during the Israeli invasioninvasion of LebanonLebanon in 1982. Today, the only remaining evidence that these portraits ever existed is a photography catalogue, made in 1976 which featured some of these portraits. In this chapter, I look at a modern digital installation entitled, In the Presence of a Fighter (2019), which I created digitally in order to recall the plundered portraits with the question: What is the value of seeing these portraits today?
