Relational Peace and Character Strengths

  • Christos Pezirkianidis

摘要

Research on relational peace is still in its early stages, and the impact of character strengths on it has remained largely unexplored. This chapter provides insights into the factors contributing to peace in close interpersonal relationships, with a specific focus on the influence of character strengths. Empirical evidence is presented, drawn from an international adult sample, establishing a positive correlation between relational peace and specific character strengths, including curiosity, gratitude, honesty, humor, love, leadership, perspective, and self-regulation. Additionally, the chapter emphasizes the role of individual and relational demographic variables in influencing levels of relational peace. These findings carry significant implications for both theoretical understanding and practical applications, guiding future research in exploring the facilitation of peace in relational contexts.
