This literature-based chapter analyses different perspectives on inclusive education in Zimbabwe, describes the current practices, points out some challenges faced in its implementation, highlights some best practices observed, and finally suggests a possible roadmap to follow for the realisation of inclusive education schools in the country. It begins with highlighting the various conceptions of inclusion, inclusive education and inclusive education school, starting from a broader perspective and then to its reflection on Zimbabwean policies and practices. The integration of global principles and policies with national ones is viewed and interrogated. The implementation practices and activities are also highlighted, as well as the challenges faced by the education system in Zimbabwe and how inclusive education can help address these challenges. A content-specific roadmap to the promotion of inclusive schools in Zimbabwe is also suggested. The chapter concludes with some recommendations for future practice and research. Overall, this chapter provides a comprehensive overview of the state of inclusive education in Zimbabwe and highlights the need for further research and practice in this area.
