Numerical Study of the Compression of Curved Intersected Honeycomb Structures with Double and Single Walls
摘要
Interlocking honeycomb compression represents an important advance, creating new opportunities in fields such as aerospace, automotive and materials engineering. The incorporation of this structure offers a unique combination of strength, lightness and durability. Recent advances and prospects highlight the importance of material design. The results of this study focused on two variants of numerical models of honeycomb structures comprising curved cells, with single and double walled configurations. Abaqus finite-element simulation software is used to analyze deformation modes. Relevant geometric parameters are taken into consideration to examine how each type of structure deforms.
