Utilizing Smart Approaches to Enhance Heat Transfer in a Rectangular Duct with a 7-Shaped Baffle Using the CFD Technique

This work proposes a computational analysis of fluid flow and convective heat transfer in a rectangular channel equipped with a 7-shaped baffle mounted on the lower wall, using smart approaches. The aim of this numerical study is to evaluate the impact of baffle height on heat transfer enhancement, based on an analysis of three different h/H cases. The finite volume approach, the standard k-epsilon turbulence model, the SIMPLE discretization algorithm are used to solve the equations. Numerical results are presented in the form of mean velocity and temperature contours, as well as local Nusselt number and local friction coefficient curves, in order to study the aerodynamic and thermal characteristics of the flow.
