Bacterial infections pose a big medical challenge with serious consequences for patient health. Accurate diagnosis of these infections is essential to guide appropriate treatment choices, often based on antibiotics. Proper management of the associated diseases requires strict adherence to medical prescriptions and the completion of the treatment to prevent the development of resistance. This paper provides an in-depth bibliometric analysis of bacterial infections, highlighting the recent methods in bacterial diagnosis and underscoring the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in diagnosing and treating these infections. Bibliometric analysis of scientific publications can offer a deep look into the evolution of research related to bacterial infections, providing a better understanding of trends, advances, and gaps in this critical area of medicine. The use of AI in bacterial identification and development of new antibiotics against resistant bacterial infections represent a breakthrough.
