EIA Procedure—EIS and Public Hearing

  • Rachna Bhateria

摘要

The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Public Hearing are integral parts of the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. An Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) is a comprehensive document that assesses the possible environmental effects of a planned project. The document contains details about the project's design, possible effects, and suggested ways to reduce negative consequences. A Public Hearing is a gathering when stakeholders are informed about the project and invited to share their opinions and feedback. The Public Hearing aims to incorporate stakeholders’ perspectives into the decision-making process. The Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and Public Hearing work together to guarantee that a project is carried out in a sustainable and responsible way.
