In this chapter we discuss the research trends within individual application fields according to our taxonomy. Including all papers identified within our literature survey would not be feasible, and we, therefore, focus on the most influential works. The entire literature corpus and its categorization can be accessed and explored at the searchable repository that accompanies this book at biomedvis-book.fi.muni.cz . Each of the following sections discusses the most prominent literature in the given application field, ordered by the scale in which they act. Within each subsection, we will comment on the trends and evolution thereof, with regard to the other dimensions—namely the data, stakeholders, tasks, and scale of application.
