Energy System Optimization Potential with Consideration of Technological Limitations
摘要
The problem of the load schedule optimal coverage for Integrated Power System was formulated and solved in the form of the problem of choosing the best load distribution of generating and cumulative capacities, taking into account technological limitations. The obtained solution allows to forecast the potential of minimizing the weighted average cost of electricity production at different forecast horizons—from an hour to several years. The results obtained during the simulation made it possible to obtain numerical estimates of the optimization potential of Ukraine IPS components’ operating modes. During operating in the optimized mode, the cost of producing electricity decreases. The probability of necessity decreases and the time between emergency and scheduled repairs increases. The mathematical model was implemented using GNU Linear Programming Kit, designed for solving problems of linear programming, mixed integer programming and other similar classes of mathematical problems. Formation of input arrays of data and processing of calculation results carried out in the environment of the MS Excel software processor. Calculations carried out taking into account the limitations of both the technical and economic conditions of operation of generating capacities and the market conditions of Ukraine IPS operation—import/export volumes, daily balance of cross-border flows of electricity with external energy systems. Test modeling using the actual load schedule of Ukraine IPS confirmed the adequacy of the model, as well as the possibility of using the proposed model to calculate the potential for optimizing the use of generating resources. The model can be the basis for the further development of the family of models for the optimization of structures of generating and storage capacities, and for the further modernization and development of software and information systems modeling of Ukraine IPS.
