摘要

Ultrasound imaging is a valuable tool for providing image guidance during prostate procedures. In addition to conventional grayscale B-mode ultrasound, many ultrasound-based techniques have been developed for prostate applications. This chapter provides an overview of several ultrasound modalities that have been employed to provide improved contrast and resolution in prostate ultrasound imaging: elastography (strain elastography, shear wave elastography, and acoustic radiation force impulse imaging), quantitative ultrasound, Doppler and contrast-enhanced ultrasound, and micro-ultrasound imaging. Recent studies of multiparametric ultrasound, in which several modalities are combined to provide enhanced lesion contrast, are also summarized.
