A History of Reporting Standards for Prostate Magnetic Resonance Imaging: PI-RADS, PRECISE, PI-QUAL, PI-RR, and PI-FAB
摘要
Prostate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is now an established tool in the detection and management of prostate cancer (PCa). Initially, it was used for staging patients with known PCa before surgery or radiation therapy (RT) by establishing if there was extraprostatic extension (EPE) or seminal vesicle involvement (SVI). Today, multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) can provide a detailed picture of the prostate and surrounding tissues with different sequences, such as T2-weighted imaging (T2-WI), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI), and dynamic contrast-enhanced (DCE) acquisitions, useful for detecting the anatomy, cellularity, and vascularity of the prostate, respectively.
