Conclusion

This study has examined the Spanish translations of Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn produced under the impact of National-Catholicism in post-Civil War, Francoist Spain. The current chapter summarises the findings achieved in previous chapters of this work, highlighting the importance for adopting a critical conceptualisation of ideology when approaching the relationship between ideology and children’s literature, while at the same time, it also suggests further avenues of research that may test and further refine the conclusions of the present study.
