摘要

The previous chapters describe various aspects of conducting social network analysis, from theoretical motivations, to research design, to data collections, and to data analytics. In this and the next chapter, I will discuss the research outcomes from data acquired, processed, and analyzed from the Intelligent Cyber Argumentation System (ICAS), which was discussed briefly in Chap. 2. This chapter uses whole network data scraped from ICAS on a controversial social issue: guns on campus to investigate the issue of racial and gender homophily on a controversional social issue: guns on campusGuns on campus. The flow of this chapter may look a bit different from the previous four chapters because this chapter follows the format of social science manuscript, rather than book monograph. It starts with an introduction, moving on to literatures, research questions, hypotheses, data and variables, findings, and finishes with conclusive remarks.
