Introduction: The Problem Has Indeed Changed

  • Elijah Prewitt-Davis

摘要

This chapter situates the book within the discourse of the death of God and radical theology. Whereas liberal and radical theologies have tended to see the loss of God as the key ingredient in what we might call post-modern disorientation, I follow Deleuze by arguing that the loss of the world is worse than the loss of God. This is fleshed out via a discussion of immanence, comparing and contrasting the version of immanence asserted by radical theologians who follow Hegel’s God-Self-World structure, and the version of immanence asserted by Deleuze.
