Making the Most of Free Trade and Investment in Regional and Global Markets

This is the closing chapter of the book. It recapitulates all of the key messages and main findings of the previous chapters, tying it all together to make a strong case for the AfCFTA as an imperative milestone in Africa’s regional integration process, as well as in the context of its development trajectory. In particular, this chapter includes a forward-looking discussion of Africa’s role in global trade and investment and what is required from an institutional, policy and political economy perspective to ensure the continent assumes its rightful role in global markets.
