The Doors of Perception
摘要
The key idea of psychophysics is that mental contents can be assessed by studying discrimination in classical psychophysics; this is done by measuring thresholds. However, the notion of threshold, and especially of absolute threshold, is in many ways problematic. These problems led to psychophysical approaches that dispense with the notion of threshold, although they preserve the spirit of Weber’s original idea. These modern developments yielded further developments which ultimately turned useful to assess desire.
