Although the ideal would be to transport a single product at a time, in practice it is often necessary for different products to circulate through the same pipe over time. These lines, called multi-product pipelines, are configured and designed in this way. The design of a multi-product pipeline can also be optimized in order to find a pipe diameter fulfilling all the technical requirements while minimizing the costs involved.
