Aid: A Blessing, or a Curse?
摘要
Aid is known as economic help that more resourced countries supply to less resourced countries. There are many different forms of aid. Three of these are emergency/humanitarian-based aid, charity-based aid and systematic aid. Substantial sums of money from aid have been used for development projects in Africa; however, this has not made a huge difference to the quality of life of those living in Africa. Aid has also been stipulated to perpetuate dependency, as it may lead to inaction from policymakers and governments in the recipient countries. Perhaps, the answer of what effective aid looks like is with direct cash transfers, which have shown to have some impact in different areas of development.
