The Shortage of Healthcare Workers in Low Resource Countries

This chapter focuses on the distribution of healthcare workers globally, highlighting areas of the world that are struggling to meet the population’s healthcare needs due to the lack of healthcare workers. The causes for such shortages are considered, alongside proposed solutions. The future action plans, from the WHO and other global agencies, to reduce disparities in healthcare workers across low resource countries (LRCs) are also explored.
