Palliative Care in Low Resource Countries

This chapter introduces palliative care in low resource countries (LRCs), with a basic overview of its principles, application and the challenges being faced by the palliative care sector. There are many misconceptions with regards to what palliative care involves, and this chapter will attempt to correct some of these. Additionally, this chapter will highlight some of the health inequalities that exist worldwide, and how these specifically impact the provision of palliative care in LRCs.
