Burns in Low Resource Countries

  • Ishak Abdikadir Mohamed

摘要

Understanding the long-term effects of burns in low resource countries (LRCs) includes challenging the perception of burns in modern society. The layered effect of burns in LRCs not only includes the medical effects, but also the economic and social consequences. In many cases, the causes of burns in LRC can be avoided. Therefore, highlighting the causes of burns and the effects they have on individual families, communities and countries goes a long way in saving lives. Equally, exploring the challenges to progressive management of burns in LRCs is also important; delineated in the notion where, overall, in LRCs, disease prevention is prioritised over injury prevention.
