摘要

A variety of liquid organic hydrogen carriers (LOHCs) have been proposed in literature, with the aim of enabling long-distance H2 transport. Together with toluene, which is the most mature technology, dibenzyltoluene has been regarded as a promised candidate to overcome some drawbacks of the couple toluene/methylcyclohexane, as the coproduction of benzene in the reaction section. To analyse the feasibility of H2 transport through dibenzyltoluene, this chapter details the dibenzyltoluene value chain. Hydrogenation and dehydrogenation sections have been analysed in detail thanks to the Aspen Plus V11® process simulation. Considering the process simulation results, the economic assessment of each stage of the value chain is provided.
