Liquefied H2 as Green H2 Carrier

A techno-economic assessment is conducted on the liquefied hydrogen (LH2) value chain, which includes hydrogen liquefaction, storage, maritime transport, distribution, regasification and compression. LH2 is transported at −252 °C and atmospheric pressure. The cost-drivers of the value chain are the hydrogen liquefaction and regasification processes. Therefore, these processes are simulated using Aspen Plus V11® process simulator, in order to estimate their capital and operating expenditures from the obtained material and energy balances.
