Ultrasound in Acute Kidney Injury
摘要
The approach to the critically ill patient with acute kidney injury (AKI) involves multidisciplinary fields. Quickly identifying the reversible causes and the factors that contribute to the progression to severe AKI stages is mandatory in this setting. This chapter explores how renal ultrasound can be used to complete the evaluation of critically ill patients with AKI. The current evidence on renal ultrasound is reviewed, proposing an integrated approach with extrarenal ultrasound and biomarkers of kidney dysfunction to diagnose AKI and monitor its progression to a more severe stage.
