Global Epidemiology and Outcomes of Acute Kidney Injury
摘要
Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a severe complication in critically ill patients. The pathophysiology is complex, where both inflammation, ischemia, and other factory contribute. Regardless of the root causes, AKI is associated with high morbidity and mortality both in the short and long term. Survivors have increased risk of chronic kidney disease and end-stage renal disease. This chapter reviews the epidemiology and outcomes in different critical care settings will be described.
