Water pollution has become a critical barrier to the natural environment and worldwide socio-economic growth. The grey water footprint (GWF) concept was utilized in this study to quantify the pollutants produced by the agricultural, industrial, and domestic sectors in Hanzhong City during 2012–2021 in the form of “diluted water”. The findings revealed that: (1) the total GWF of Hanzhong City is dropping, and the amount is significantly lower than the number of water resources available that year; (2) the domestic sector has the greatest GWF, followed by the agricultural sector, while the industrial sector has the smallest; (3) the total nitrogen (TN) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) pollutant loads in river water meet the Class II of Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water. Therefore, while the quantity and quality of water satisfy the requirements of sustainable development in Hanzhong City, the total GWF must still be closely regulated.
