Qubits can be created based on electrons. This includes variations such as using electron spin states to represent quantum information and using electron trapped on helium. There are also frozen neon variations. Each of these offer specific advantages and disadvantages as physical qubits. Electron spin states can be manipulated using magnetic and electric fields or through precisely timed microwave pulses.
