Topological Quantum Computing

  • Chuck Easttom

摘要

Topological quantum computing is an approach to quantum computing that aims to leverage the properties of topological phases of matter to create more robust and fault-tolerant qubits. This method uses anyons, which are quasiparticles that exist in two-dimensional spaces and exhibit exotic statistics, to perform quantum computations. Topological quantum computing depends on exotic quasi particles in order to store data. Specifically, TQC uses anyons. Topological quantum computing is currently primary theoretical, however recent research suggests it could be a viable approach to implementing physical qubits.
