摘要

This book aims at defining the framework to carry out a search for dark matter (DM) annihilation signals, and presenting the achievable sensitivity of the current generation of Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov Telescopes (IACTs) to annihilating dark matter. The already obtained constraints and the near-future forecast sensitivity are shown. A considerable range of possible dark matter annihilation models is explored, including a broad choice of two-body final states and canonical TeV electroweak candidates – arising as specific Weakly Interacting Massive Particles scenario realizations, for DM masses between a few hundred GeV up to \(\sim 100\) TeV. State-of-the-art computations for the DM spectra and models for the DM density distribution in the inner Galaxy are presented.
