摘要

The last chapter concludes how the normative discourse of the Anglophone novel fails to demonstrate the substantial critique of caste. This discourse presents Dalit protagonists not as capable enough to come out of their miserable existence meaningfully. It completely ignores their Dalitude and the fact that even they can fight back like any other victim of inhuman oppression in society to protect their dignity and self-respect. The chapter concludes with observations on how Dalit literature with Dalit consciousness is imbued with references to the Phule-Ambedkarite or anti-caste ideology, and how it manifests the idea of Dalitude more distinctly and uniquely.
