Exploring the Issues and Challenges in Crowdsourcing: An Empirical Investigation
摘要
This research investigates the issues and challenges that surround crowdsourcing initiatives. The fundamental objective is to learn everything there is to know about the problems that crowdsourcing initiatives encounter, including but not limited to data quality, privacy, participant involvement, trust, intellectual property, scalability, diversity, and resistance from established institutions. The study takes a quantitative research design and uses a survey questionnaire as its major data gathering tool. 50 responders were picked at random, all of them are crowdsourcing specialists and active practitioners. SPSS software was used to analyse the data. The study demonstrates that data privacy, security, and accuracy are the primary concerns with crowdsourcing. The motivation and retention of participants, confidence in crowdsourcing platforms, issues with intellectual property and copyright, and other issues must all be addressed. Making ensuring everyone engaged feels welcome and respected is vital since larger projects may have scalability concerns. Crowdsourcing adoption faces considerable obstacles due to resistance and cynicism from traditional institutions. This study highlights the complexity of crowdsourcing issues. This research highlights the importance of problems such as data quality, privacy, trust, motivation, diversity, and overcoming conventional scepticism to the success of crowdsourcing initiatives. By addressing the various issues and challenges in crowdsourcing, the research contributes valuable insights essential for enhancing the success and sustainability of crowdsourcing endeavours, fostering trust among participants, and paving the way for wider adoption despite resistance from established institutions. This knowledge is pivotal for both researchers and practitioners seeking to navigate the intricate landscape of crowdsourcing with a holistic understanding of its impediments and opportunities.
