How can an industrial company effectively integrate the principles of Circular Economy into its company strategy and create an impact? In this chapter, we propose a 6-step model, the ‘Rapperswil CE-Model’. This model is based on solid literature research, a survey with more than 500 participants, and 10 in-depth case studies. Our research reveals the practices and approaches that lead to the successful implementation of Circular Economy by providing an in-depth understanding of the essential drivers, enablers, and challenges. The ‘Rapperswil CE-Model’ starts with an analysis of the company’s actual situation. Based on this, our findings support the development of a clear vision and specific goals for circular practices. This sets the basis for an open discussion to decide on the right approach to Circular Economy and its level of ambition. The subsequent steps consider the practical implementation: prioritising actions, crafting a detailed transition road map, and determining the pace of change. Critical to this model is the establishment of a continuous review and monitoring process that allows for ongoing oversight and necessary adjustments.

摘要
