Remanufacture is a retention strategy that prolongs the lifespan of a product by adding lifecycles to the original product lifecycle. Remanufacture needs less resources, is cheaper and helps to improve a company’s reputation, because product components are reused and reprocessed. In the following chapter, drivers and enablers for the successful implementation of a specific use case about this retention strategy are identified, and the impact and outcome are analysed in detail.
