摘要

The four poems in this chapter involve marvels from several different areas of mathematics. TheCollatz Conjecture, a famous unsolved problem in mathematics, is the subject of ``WondrousNumbers.'' The poem ``The Painter's Paradox'' reflects on a mathematical paradox involvingconvergent and divergent infinities: it concerns a particular structure, an intangible object calledGabriel's horn, with a calculable finite volume, but infinite surface area. ``Recursive Function''explores recursive processes, and ``Petal Projection'' contains thoughts on topologic knots.
