摘要

As social work education in the Middle East continues to develop, opportunities for decolonizing social work education exist but limited regional research, materials, and a Eurocentric bias create dependencies, and risk reenacting colonialism. Nevertheless, Middle Eastern examples are emerging of culturally sensitive social work curriculums. This chapter explores the challenges, opportunities, and trends to decolonize social work education in the Middle East. Innovative examples of decolonizing and adapting social work knowledge, skills, and values to the regional context, balancing cultural and international social work values, and decolonized practice education will be provided.
