STS Meets Science and Religion
摘要
In the introduction to the volume, I explain its two-fold purpose and rationale: to give STS away to those interested in the Social Study of Science and Religion and to show STS scholars the value of drawing on religion in their work. I suggest that an STS approach to science is particularly useful for the Social Study of Science and Religion because of (1) its methodological flexibility, (2) its insistence on non-essentialism, (3) its operationalisation of tension, and (4) its focus on practice while showing how these themes are reflected in the contributions.
