摘要

Childhood cancer is a major cause of death worldwide. Individuals surviving cancer may experience endocrine dysfunction as a result of tumor growth and also as a consequence of cancer treatment. Acute and late endocrine consequences of malignancy treatment during childhood vary according to cancer type, therapeutic modalities, and patient characteristics. Malnutrition, obesity, growth disturbances, pubertal abnormalities, among others, are frequent consequences of cancer treatment during childhood. This chapter will describe the more frequent acute and late endocrine effects of cancer treatment during childhood.
