摘要

Biodynamic agriculture is a holistic approach that views the farm as a self-sustaining ecosystem, emphasizing the interrelationships between soil, plants, animals, and cosmic influences. This agricultural system promotes environmental sustainability, high biodiversity, and natural resource conservation, while adhering to strict standards that exclude synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, GMOs, antibiotics, and growth hormones. Over recent decades, biodynamic agriculture has gained global traction due to growing environmental concerns and consumer preferences for organic products, integrating spiritual, ethical, and ecological principles into farming practices. In this chapter, global growth and trends with key principles, methods, merits, and demerits of biodynamic agriculture are discussed in detail. Besides, certification and challenges faced by biodynamic agriculture and the future vistas have also been discussed.
